Xmas Parade

The Club has entered for this years Christmas Parade. We have missed out on the last few years due to race meetings so it would be great to have as many of our members come along and show off to the town! Table toppers and striders are more than welcome - Mum or Dad are welcome to join too…

This Saturday 5th December. Meet on reserve beside Mini golf at 12.20pm sharp! It is recommended to wear flats as there is lots of starting and stopping. Full race gear is required please and feel free to dress your bike up with tinsel etc to get into the Christmas spirit.

King of the Ring

We still need following helpers please:

Thursday 3rd Dec 1 person to help Matt Harvey
2pm till approx 6pm to help with setup.

Saturday 5th December – 2 people
2pm to approx 9pm for Door and floating.

Contact Anne-Marie ASAP if you can help please!

Lakesider

Thank you to all the 18 volunteers that braved the changing weather on Saturday to help out at the Lakesider event during the Cycle Challenge. This has helped the club with more fundraising! Well done guys and girls!

Souths and Oceania Champs

The South Island Titles and Oceania BMX Continental Champs are up in January.

To race in these, you need a 2016 licence. Please see Jane asap to organise your 2016 licence and also your entries to these races as both are club entries.

2016 Licences and Club Fees

If you are wanting to race and have entry to the track over the Christmas school holidays these will need to be paid early so they can get to BMXNZ in time to be processed and also I will be away for 2-3 weeks from the 18th December.

Just be aware that the Club closes down before Christmas until around 20th January, so if you want to race away in January or early February, you need to renew your licence as soon as possible to make sure it is processed in time. Ideally I would like to have most of the licences to BMXNZ by 14th December at the very latest.

2016 LICENCE FEES

Taupo Strider Licence $35 (uci age 4yrs and under)
BMXNZ Challenge Licence $105 (uci age 8yrs and over)
BMXNZ Sprocket Licence $80 (uci age 7yrs and under)
BMXNZ Club Licence $70 (uci age 8yrs and over)

Upgrade from Club to Challenge $45
Upgrade from Strider to Sprocket $45

All these fees run from 1st January 2016 to 31st December 2016 and include access into the track. If you are a new rider and not wanting to race at any BMXNZ 2015 race meets then you may go straight to getting a 2016 licence and this will cover the rest of our club nights/training for 2015. Once you have ridden 3 club nights it is a requirement of BMXNZ that you become licensed. Those that are renewing your licence your licence will be considered overdue after 20th February.

2016 licence information and forms can be found here: http://www.taupobmx.org.nz/news/?p=1483

Gate

As you will know, our gate has been out of action since the North Island Titles. Hopefully the replacement controls, ram and lights will be here in the next week or so. FYI, this equipment is coming from the USA and has cost the club just over $9,000.

Please bear with us while we get the gate up and running again - it has been unfortunate that the gate broke, however, the upgrade to Pro-Gate controls will be beneficial for the whole club!

Christmas Break

16th December is last club night. We will have a ‘special visitor’ join us at 7pm. Please bring a $5 wrapped gift for your child - don’t forget to name it, and give to ladies in Points hut before racing starts.

BMX will resume 20th January 2016.

Training

Lance’s Training will finish 8th December, Sprocket Training will finish 12th December and Scott’s Training will finish 14th December. Thanks to Lance, Courtney, Scott and all their helpers for all the work that they have all put in to help our riders out this year! Make sure you all say thanks to them!

Will advise when training starts again once club days resume.
